To the tune of Fengrusong
At the hill pavilion, snow is about to fall; frost has already formed, yet the stubborn sun remains.
Slanting light falls on the bricks and still will not depart; the golden brazier is lit, waiting for you through the long night.
A thousand li travelled to this point; Wild Goose Mound may now become a hall.
The old mountain’s crossing shadow disturbs the brazier light; among the embers, fragrance remains.
The brush runs dry; paper is given to the flames, yet still holds a person’s thoughts. I suppose that, with the years, forgetting should come easily.
The peony adds still more red rain; jade sinew secretly touches dragon splendour.
