To the tune of Linjiangxian Yin

The enclosure cracks; the feast disperses; the bell hangs into evening—a moment’s stolen peace. Star City no longer holds those good years. Let the old wall swallow the shadow; only the homeward dream circles on. Snow-willow in the empty courtyard, still warm at the break, yet leaning against Mount Lanke. Since leaving the Three Mountains, nowhere to go; the mossy steps do not recognise the one returning. Through iron city, along stony road, with hemp-rain murmuring on. Cast-off blood-threads still cover the fingers; may we cherish each other in another life.
